Tencel is similar in depth and drape to rayon, with an almost silky hand. It’s stronger than rayon or cotton,
but not quite as strong as polyester. We offer both 5/2 and 10/2 sizes. See individual offerings for details.
Tencel is wonderful for embroidery, adding a richness of color and sheen that Perle cotton can’t match.
It’s also great for weaving, making excellent cloth for clothing or hand towels. It’s more absorbent than
cotton so is a good substitute in any project when absorbancy is needed. The heavier weights work well in most sewing
machines for bobbin drawing; lightest weights can even work well from the top when you use a Jeans needle and slow down a
bit.
